Turnul Negru, Brașov County
The Hollywood-style sign on top of Tâmpa, part of the Postăvarul Massif in the Carpathians, which watches over Brașov. In 1946 parts of the forest were destroyed by a fire on the mountain. When Brașov was renamed Orașul Stalin (Stalin City) during the Soviet occupation of Romania, fir trees were planted on Tampâ, spelling out STALIN. As the vegetation has grown back, the word has become blurred, but some of the letters can still be distinguished if you know where to look.
Seen here from the Black Tower (Turnul Negru) on Warthe Hill.
