Matthiola maderensis
Ponta de São Lourenço, PortugalMatthiola maderensis in Madeira. It is one of an incredibly high number of plants endemic to Madeira which, like other islands in the Madeiran archipelago, has a very high rate of endemism. 10% of species found there are endemic, making it an exciting place for a plant lover like me. This is due to the island having being isolated from the mainland ever since it's explosive birth 5 million years ago.
